Optofluidics named Philadelphia Life Sciences Start-up of the Year
Philadelphia, Pa: May 4th, 2012. The Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT) has recognized Optofluidics as Philadelphia’s 2012 Life Sciences Start-up of the year at is 19th annual Enterprise Awards. The Enterprise Awards “are the premier business awards ceremony in the Philadelphia Region and celebrate achievement, innovation, and the success of Technology, CleanTech, MedTech and Life Sciences companies, leaders and entrepreneurs”.

Optofluidics, Inc. is a start-up company that began operations in January 2011 with the goal of developing microfluidic and biophotonic technologies for single molecule analytics and point of care medical diagnostics. Their initial products include the “Molecular NanoTweezer” which is a protein discovery tool that can handle the smallest forms of matter and the “Molecular Medic” which detects changes in blood-borne biomarkers to diagnose late phase hemorrhagic shock and traumatic brain injury.
